Antimicrobial, antibacterial, antitumor, anticancer, expectorant, anti-inflammatory, antiulcerogenic, and antiviral. Traditionally used to kill parasites, address sexually transmitted diseases, treat skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, skin rashes, and bruises. Has been used in remedies for rheumatic diseases, venereal infections, urinary infections, and certain types of cancer. Its expectorant properties help with respiratory issues like colds and bronchitis. Can be applied as a poultice for respiratory problems and a wash for skin problems.
